Profile


Gianni Nicolini is Associate Professor in Banking and Finance at the University of Rome "Tor Vergata" (Rome, Italy), Faculty of Economics, Department of Economics and Finance (DEF).


He had a PhD in Banking and Finance* and a M.A. in Economics and Finance, both at the University of Rome "Tor Vergata" (Rome, Italy). His main research interest concerns Consumer Finance, with a special focus on Financial Literacy and Financial Education. Previous research interests were related to e-finance (valuation of cultural differences between traditional banks and e-finance institutions), leasing evaluation and the integration process in the European exchange industry.


He is:

  • Member of the Board of Directors of the American Council of Consumer Interest (ACCI), USA.

  • Chairman of International Committee of the American Council of Consumer Interest (ACCI), USA.

  • Member of the Consumer Credit Research Center (CCRC) at the University of Rome "Tor Vergata" (Rome, Italy).

  • Member of the Faculty of the PhD program in Banking and Finance at the University of Rome "Tor Vergata" (Rome, Italy).

  • Reviewer for different journals, included the Journal fo Consumer Affaris (JCA), Journal of Family and Economic Issues (JEEI), Journal of Consumer Policy (JCP) and Journal of Economic Studies (JES).

Curriculum Vitae
 

*The Ph.D. thesis "An explanatory model of european exchange industry integration process: an analysis of current integration project and the future of Borsa Italiana" received the "Caparrelli Prize" 2005 as the best Italian Ph.D. thesis in Banking and Finance.
